EDITOR'S PICKS OF THE MONTH - JULY 2019
During these hot, wet, steamy summer months we are always looking for a relaxing retreat where the setting is informal and the food appealing to a wide variety of tastes. You cannot get much more informal than dining in someone's condominium, and Empty Plates, on the 23rd floor of a Ladprao tower block, is a converted residence that can seat only 12 diners, just like a dinner party. Another family-style home is the wooden house of Le Cabanon, which translates as "the cabin", and the cuisine is French Med with an emphasis on fresh European seafood. We always love the informality of Greek restaurants, and Avra has a combination of Greek and Georgian food, courtesy of the owner's own family heritage. And if it's family dining, or dinner with a group of friends, then Summer Palace is the ideal Cantonese restaurant with lots of space and fine creative Chinese food.
