A Culinary Stroll About EmQuartier

A CULINARY STROLL ABOUT EMQUARTIER

Once a city noted primarily for its rustic side walk shopping opportunities, Bangkok has recently spawned several shopping malls that compete with the finest in the world, suddenly making it one of the most luxurious places on the planet to shop. But Bangkok's malls are not just about shopping, they are also places for dining and entertainment.

The dining opportunities are especially extensive and they have increased in both number and quality in recent malls. Initially mall dining was almost exclusively devoted to food courts, but lately the number of standard “sit down” restaurants has blossomed. Siam Paragon (Dec 2005) and CentralWorld (1990 as World Trade Center), two of the city's  “older” malls, are cases in point. At CentralWorld, the sixth largest mall in the world, the number of sit down restaurants has increased dramatically, especially since the arrival of  The Groove, a separate area devoted to quality restaurants, many of which have international pedigrees. The Food Court at Siam Paragon remains wildly popular, but traditional restaurants with their own seating areas found at “The Canal” and the “Food Passage” found on the fourth floor are now playing a bigger role than in the past.

But it is at EmQuartier, the recently opened mall located opposite the Emporium, where mall dining has been taken to new heights. Numerous patisseries, cafes, tea shops and restaurants are found throughout the mall, including a massive food court and collection of dining spots on the basement level. But it is on the 6th through 9th floors of the “Helix Quartier” that this trend is most apparent. Here a circular walkway fronting on over 45 restaurants featuring food from all corners of the globe leads upward from the 6th floor – a spectacle that has to be experienced to be believed.

Bangkok Best Dining has strolled through EmQuartier experiencing several of the restaurants found in the luxurious complex. Here is some of what we discovered, but please remember this is just the tip of the iceberg. There are over 100 dining spots in EmQuartier for you to experience! To help you on your stroll about EmQuartier, best replica watches for sale you can pick up a helpful guide to the mall's restaurants at any of the numerous information booth.
