We are all, quite suddenly, becoming aware of what we eat and how that relates to our health.
This is not exactly a new phenomenon, but never before has it been so all-pervasive, in that not only do the public at large take a great interest, but the restaurant and food trade are scrambling to cater for this new mass movement.
The average man or woman on the street now accepts that a “healthy diet” helps promote good health.
Furthermore, there are plenty of restaurants here in Bangkok that can provide that healthy diet, whether it be vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or any other specialist style.
In addition to the right foods, people also now realise that what is done to the plants and animals making up what we eat is also important. This realisation has spawned the organic food movement and an awareness of the dangers created by pesticides and other interventions to promote the quantity of food produced.
This even includes organic wine, which is now appearing on wine lists of many restaurants in town.
We have visited several Bangkok restaurants where the owners are providing healthy eating foods, and are profiling four of them here.
