NEWLY OPENED AND INNOVATIVE RESTAURANTS

New restaurants of superb quality continue to open in Bangkok, and during the past month we have been visiting some of them.

At Thonglor, British TV celebrity chef Martin Blunos has opened a new fine dining restaurant dedicated to exploring his own Baltic heritage, with Baltic Blunos focused on the food of Latvia.

At Yen Akart, Chef Christian Martena and his wife Clara have opened a fine-dining Modern Italian restaurant in the lovely old Bauhaus villa formerly occupied by the Villa Yen Akart art gallery. Named Clara, it is indeed a tribute to Mrs Martena, who is the most gracious maitre’d.

On Soi 23 we find Carne, a South American meat-based restaurant opened by the Crab and Claw people, and with emphasis on flame cooking, smoking, and charcoal grilling.

Life afloat, meanwhile, always has its attractions, and Pruek Cruise is a new dining venture aboard a three-storey teak wood vessel.

More new restaurants are to come, and we shall continue to bring you news of them!
