There are restaurants in town that are indisputably amongst the best of their genre, and which pack in the customers through the sheer quality of their offerings, even when the price might be considerably above anyone else comparable.
We have found this at Sorn Fine Southern Cuisine, recently opened and serving Southern Thai food impeccably sourced, prepared and presented like artwork, and with only 22 tables it is already difficult to get a reservation.
R.HAAN, an amusing play on the Thai word aharn (“food” or “to eat”), is a project of famed Chef Chumpol Janpari, in which Thai cuisine is prepared to such meticulous quality that everything down to the fish sauce is made from scratch, and the set menus are based on the three Thai seasons.
At Uno Mas, on top of Centara Grand at CentralWorld, there is an extravagant Spanish brunch every first Sunday of the month, with a dazzling range of premium foods and unlimited pours of G.H. Mumm Cordon Rouge Champagne, as well as all premium beverages.
We also visited Chef Man at Eastin Grand Sathorn, where this famous chef told us some of the secrets of his kitchen where he prepares the very best of Cantonese cuisine.
